Joke of the week

Joke of the week: At a Sunday school class the teacher asked a child do you pray to God before lunch or dinner?
The child said, “No ma'am, my moms a good cook!”

Going in two different paths

Steve Nash is a future hall of famer and has almost achieved everything in his 15 year NBA career. Captain Canada has won back to back MVP awards, has had multiple All-Star appearances, is currently the best free-throw shooter of all time, has led the NBA in ast/game 4 times in the past 6 years and is on his way to finish the season shooting 50% from the field, 40% from behind the 3point line and 90% from the foul line for the 5th time (Larry Bird was the only player to do it even twice).
However, one thing is still missing in Steve Nash’s career: An NBA Championship. Even though his numbers are extremely impressive for a 37 year old, his window is starting to close. Although he wouldn’t admit it, Nash is starving for his first NBA ring but his loyalty to Phoenix won’t let him demand a trade. Lon Babby, the Suns’ president of Basketball Operations, said that Nash was the face of the franchise and trading him was out of the question. However, at this point, a trade can benefit both sides. The Suns will most likely miss the playoffs this year and it won’t be for another 4 or 5 years until they can reach the NBA elite class again. The Suns have two good young point guards in Aaron Brooks who was last year’s most improved player and Zabian Dowdell. Trading Nash to a contender would help Phoenix acquire young talent and Draft picks which would benefit any team in a rebuilding mode. On the other hand, this would help Steve win a championship before retiring. However, which top NBA teams are ready to make the move? Clubs like the Bulls, the Celtics, the Thunder and the Spurs are all out of the question. Orlando has already three talented point guards and Atlanta is not exactly a contender at the moment. The first team that comes to my mind is Miami. However I don’t think the Heat have the assets Phoenix is looking for. What about Dallas? Mark Cuban has been craving for an NBA championship for a while and is ready to try anything to win NOW. Besides, who wouldn’t love to see Steve reunited with Dirk, Kidd and Marion? The last team that came to my mind was the Lakers. With an aging starting point guard could the Laker management pull of the trigger and land the two-time former MVP?
